Yep. Perfectly safe for Trump and others to be there. But nope, not Florida legislators.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Right?! The hypocrisy is beyond words. If it’s “too dangerous” for legislators, why were Trump and DeSantis giving press tours? It’s performative cruelty, plain and simple. Thank you for saying it.

Eliza, thanks for sharing this. Alligator Alcatraz is inhumane and sick and this is LITERALLY state-sanctioned cruelty. I'm going to be sharing this article with others, and sharing Rep. Nixon's video too! Yours in solidarity.

Thank you so much. It means the world to know you're sharing this and helping to get the truth out. You're exactly right—this is state-sanctioned cruelty, and the more people who see it for what it is, the better chance we have to stop it. In solidarity always. 💛

Thank you Eliza for this update. I wake up every night in a panic thinking of the people there. Crimes against humanity.

Oh Nori, I feel that so deeply. The anxiety, the rage, the heartbreak—it’s all valid. These are real people, and what’s being done to them is unconscionable. I promise to keep using my voice. You’re not alone.

I know, Mom. That line haunts me too. You’ve always taught me to speak up when I see injustice, and I’m trying to live that every day—even when it feels unbearable. Thank you for always being in this fight with me. I love you.

Shame on this administration. Shame on my home state of Florida for accommodating this atrocity. Retribution is coming!

Humanitarian does not typically blend well with fascism, totalitarianism, authoritarianism, or now, apparently, the Republican Party.

Yes, yes, and yes. Authoritarianism and human rights never mix—and what we’re seeing now isn’t a slippery slope, it’s a full sprint. Thank you for naming it.

I’m running with the Humanitarian over all those other “-ians” and “-isms” and hoping to spread the word and Mach speed as to outpace their sprint.
