Thank you. Feeling a bit better. Quote for the moment: Rocky Balboa in Rocky Balboa. “Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain't how hard you can hit. It's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It's how much you can take, and keep moving forward

That quote hit me straight in the chest. Thank you for sharing it. It’s exactly the reminder I needed, too—it’s not about how hard you hit, it’s how much you can take and keep going. We keep going. Together.

Terry, I read your comment and had to take a moment. Thank you for such warmth and care. I do feel sore and exhausted sometimes—but messages like yours are the reminder that none of us are bailing water alone. We’re in this together. I’m so grateful.

Eliza, I know in my heart that if one of us drops or breaks our bucket, someone in the community will cover us until we can recover another. I don’t want that to always be you, though your intelligence is seemingly wired to be our de facto leader. Please do not hesitate to lean on me if you need something…

This is about as much patriotism as I can muster in the midst of the shit show that our country has become.

Mark, I feel that so deeply. Honestly, that’s the kind of patriotism that matters most—the kind that keeps showing up even in the middle of the chaos. It’s not naive. It’s rooted in truth. I’m grateful you’re in this with us.

Thanks Eliza. This is just crazy scary. And I'm infuriated that the Democrats allowed this to happen - from provding a poor presidential candidate that wasn't vetted to hanging on to representative roles and even Supreme Court roles through death to having limp leadership at a time it needs raw and positive energy.

Kamala Harris was NOT a poor candidate.

She would never have gone that far if not for Biden crumbling before our eyes. Even then we saw a Democratic party try to coalesce and push him through when it was obvious to everyone that he had become a shell - except for his Zionist push to kill Palestinians. It was embarrassing. From that point the Democrats could never and should never be trusted. And Harris never chose to separate herself from Biden on Gaza. "I am talking." Another reason why she never got as many votes as Biden did in 2020. Sorry, but as a lifelong Democrat, I see the Democrats well deserving of the 28% approval rating they earned for themselves. They became Republican lite. Why vote for them when you can vote for real Republicans?

Bullshit. If Biden had done what he promised in 2020 and not run for a second term she would have won (and yes, she was vetted, you don't become Vice President of the United States without a very thorough vetting).

She was the most qualified person ever to run for President, with extensive experience in all three of our tri-cameral branches of Government, Judicial (San Francisco District Attorney & California Attorney General), Legislative (United States Senator) and Executive (California Attorney General — the second largest Department of Justice in the United States, second only to the US DOJ and, of course, Vice President).

She oversaw a sizable reduction of crime and incarceration first in San Francisco and continuing as CA AG, implementing progressive legal standards and diversion programs for non violent criminals. She also worked very effectively on crime prevention programs.

As US Senator she was incredibly effective on the Senate Judiciary Committee, among other things, making Brett Kavanagh cry when she wouldn't let him get away with perjuring himself. She also started to learn more about foreign policy (though she had a pretty solid background due to dealing with immigration and immigrants as CA AG).

As Vice President she created a very effective economic development program in South and Central America that caused larger decreases in illegal border crossings — using private sector funding so the program didn't cost taxpayers. She also was the primary Biden Administration liason with Vlodimyr Zelenskyy, meeting with him multiple times in Kyev and in Washington DC.

What she was able to accomplish in less than six weeks as the Candidate was unprecedented. She destroyed Trump in the only debate he was brave enough to have with her — and she predicted everything that has happened since January 20th.

She was anything but a dud candidate.

Whoa. Coming on a bit strong there. Here's my final response to your Kamala defense mode. If you believe "vetting" involves being pre-ordained and not being voted in by the electorate, then I'm glad you are satisfied that Kamala was selected to run for President, not by the people, but by the hierarchy of the Democratic party. She was weak and made it known that there was no space between her and Biden, a genocidal war monger. Essentially, she was Frankenbiden - Kamala's body with Biden's brain. A losing cause. And, predictably she lost when the only way for her to win was to distance herself from Biden on Gaza, whose approval rating was about as low as today's powder puff Democratic party of heavy hitters Schumer and Jeffries. Gaza was a red-line issue for many Democrats. But those Democrats who didn't want to see a live stream genocide were not just completely ignored, they were dehumanized and humiliated at the Democratic convention in Chicago. Schumer and Jeffries have both received 1.7m from the pro-Israel lobby while Kamala has received 9.4m. We can only hope for the sake of the Democratic party that she fades into the sunset, along with both Clintons, the Obama's, and most definitely James Carville.

Nope. Vetting means thorough background checks and multiple interviews with the subject and a whole universe of people that they've worked with and known over years. That's what campaign managers do and they're VERY thorough, especially since McCain/Palin.

Harris was "voted for by the electorate" when she became Vice President. You should also be aware that Public Primaries are a relatively recent thing, for most of US History the Party Presidential Nominees were selected in smoke filled rooms by party heavyweights, NOT Primaries or, in this case, appointed and endorsed by an encumbent President who was stepping away from his reelection campaign.

Yes, Netanyahu's crimes against humanity have been divisive but, as sitting Vice President, Harris was duty bound not to contradict the sitting President's policies.

Having known Kamala Harris through mutual friends in San Francisco, I can guarantee you that she would have had a very different policy than Biden's had she been elected.

She didn't lose because of MAGA or any massive majority embracing Trump. High turnouts equal Democrat victories as we've seen again and again. She lost because of straight white guys that look like me staying home because they refused to vote for a person of color who lacked the all-important penis. And they're the ones I blame for this shit show.
