Objection: We Don't Know if Kilmar Abrego Garcia Is Alive

Human Lives Are Not Up for Debate

Since I shared Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s story yesterday, many of you have been asking me the heartbreaking question: “Is he still alive?”

As of today, we have no evidence to suggest he isn’t — but the fact that we’re even forced to ask this question underscores the cruel reality he faces. Kilmar was wrongfully deported and is now being held at El Salvador's infamous CECOT prison, a facility notorious for inhumane conditions.

I almost didn’t post today’s update because I got emotional recording it. But then I thought, how could I not? The tears I shed are exactly what any human being should feel when confronted with this injustice.

Kilmar deserves dignity, safety, and justice. And until he has those things, I won’t stop talking about it.

Thank you for continuing to care, for asking important questions, and for demanding answers.
